The common notion that this is like any other economic downturn is pure marketing. Never has there been so many approaching disasters to knock down the economy. Pouring money into the banks is a good move but when will they loosen credit? The resulting drop in the dollar may help the banks and big business but what happens to the guy who lost half of his pension. A trickle down economy will probably reach most retired people as they are laid to rest. This will be the slowest recovery the U.S. will ever experience. The auto industry will never recover in the U.S., The banks will hoard money from the Feds and the approaching 2nd wave fuel crisis will be ignored. There are many roadblocks to a better economy for living souls over 40 and the present crisis has allowed people to put those aside. This is arrogance and stupidity at it's worse. Shore up the individuals who made this a profitable economy for a few and let the banks take a deserved dive into oblivion.
